The meeting was called to order Tuesday, September 1, 2009 6:37 p.m., at the Chamber's County Public Library, 202 Cummings, Anahuac TX

Present David Sarkozi, Kay Lovelace, Travis Lovelace, Jerry Milsaps, Toni Marchetti, Tommie Harris, Carolyn Harris, Stephanie Martinez,  Tim Cooper,  and Tami Schutter.

Treasurer’s Report was not available

Nature Store Report. Total sales of $817.50 for August

Refuge Report

·         Drinking water is now available at the shop and community building.

·         Fences are being restored

·         The new VIS contract has been awarded for the design, design will be complete September 15, 2009

·         A contractor is removing debris

·         The old community building has been removed and will be used as a residence off the refuge

·         All the normal hunt units will be open for teal season, there will be no alligator hunt this year.

New Business

Magnet for New Members and Recruitment. Kay Lovelace proposed the we purchase refrigerator magnets for recruiting and thank-you gifts. She will get back with a more concrete proposal and identify where the funds should be expended.

Old Business

Gatorfest (September 11-12, 2009) a few more volunteers are needed for Saturday.

Community Building: Mostly finish work is needed, painting and small details. Building is now usuable

Newsletter: is at the printers

Website: Refuge asked that the Friends host  the hunt brochures, that should be any problem.
